One of the biggest questions we get is, "How does my puppy get to me in Brookings?" We've perfected a process that puts your puppy's safety and comfort above all else. PuppyGuyz is not a kennel or a pet store; we are a dedicated network of ethical breeders connected by a premium delivery service. Getting Ready for Your Puppy in Brookings
The day your puppy is scheduled to arrive at your Brookings home is incredibly exciting! A little preparation can make the transition smooth for everyone. Here’s a simple checklist to get you started:
Get down on your hands and knees to see the world from a puppy's perspective. Tuck away electrical cords, secure chemicals, and make sure any small, swallowable objects are out of reach.
This is an important one for being a responsible Brookings pet owner. The City of Brookings requires that all dogs over six months of age be licensed. You can find the forms and details on the Brookings Animal Control section of the city’s website. It’s a simple step that ensures your dog can be easily identified if they ever get lost.
Call your chosen veterinarian (like the one we suggested above!) and book that initial wellness check-up for a day or two after your puppy's scheduled arrival.

Your Brookings Puppy Delivery FAQs
Can you deliver to my specific neighborhood in Brookings? What about nearby towns like Volga or Aurora?
Absolutely. Our "door-to-door" service means just that. Whether you live in a house near Medary Elementary, an apartment close to the SDSU campus, or a home in a surrounding community like Volga, Aurora, or White, our ground transport partners will deliver your puppy directly and safely to your address. We cover the entire Brookings metro area.
What are the payment options for my puppy? I'm nervous about paying online.
We've designed our payment model specifically to build trust and give you peace of mind. You are only required to pay a 50% deposit to reserve your chosen puppy. The remaining balance is not due until you are holding your healthy, happy puppy in your arms upon delivery. This ensures you can see your puppy and verify they are exactly as promised before completing the purchase.
What's the first thing I should do with my puppy when they arrive in Brookings?
The first moments are all about making them feel safe. When the delivery driver arrives, take your puppy directly to a designated potty spot in your yard. Afterward, bring them inside and let them gently explore their new home on their own terms. Show them where their water and bed are located, but avoid overwhelming them with too many people or too much excitement right away. The most important "first thing" on your to-do list is their scheduled wellness check-up with your Brookings veterinarian.
