The PuppyGuyz Promise: White-Glove Puppy Delivery to Smithtown
Smithtown families deserve more than a shipping label and a wait. From the moment you choose your puppy, a dedicated transport team takes over — managing every detail of the journey so what arrives at your door is a happy, bonded companion rather than a stressed animal fresh from a long, unattended trip.
Dedicated Ground Transport
For puppies traveling from nearby breeders, our ground transport team makes the journey in a vehicle built specifically for young animals — not repurposed cargo space.
Climate-Controlled Environment
The cabin maintains a consistent, comfortable temperature throughout the trip, protecting your puppy from Long Island's summer humidity and winter cold. Each puppy travels in an individual padded compartment with proper airflow at every stop.
Constant Monitoring
A trained handler rides along for the full journey — not just at pickup and drop-off. Regular rest stops, fresh water, and wellness checks are scheduled into every route, and you receive updates throughout so you always know where your puppy is.
Flight Nanny Service
When a puppy is coming from a breeder farther away, our flight nanny steps in. Your puppy travels in-cabin as carry-on luggage with an experienced handler at their side from gate to gate — never in cargo, never alone.
Personal Companion
Our flight nannies are seasoned animal handlers who know how to keep a young puppy calm and comfortable during air travel. They communicate with you before departure and immediately upon landing so there are no gaps in the handoff.
Rapid Timeline
Once you choose your puppy and place the 50% deposit to secure your spot, delivery to Smithtown typically takes one week or less. Everything from paperwork to your front door is handled by our team.

Your First Vet Visit in Smithtown: A Trusted Recommendation
Every PuppyGuyz puppy arrives with a current health certificate and up-to-date vaccination records. We still strongly recommend booking a wellness exam at a local veterinarian within the first 72 hours of your puppy's arrival. The American Veterinary Medical Association advises choosing a licensed vet before your puppy even arrives so the appointment is ready to go. The Smithtown area has several well-regarded practices, including options in Kings Park, Hauppauge, and Commack. Your vet will confirm the vaccination schedule we provide, set up a deworming plan, and advise on flea and tick prevention for Suffolk County's outdoor environment.
Staying Compliant: A Guide to Dog Ownership Laws in Smithtown, NY
The Town of Smithtown and Suffolk County have clear rules every new dog owner should know. Being prepared before your puppy arrives keeps everything running smoothly from day one.
New York State law requires all dogs to be vaccinated against rabies. The first dose is typically given between 12 and 16 weeks of age, with a one-year booster required afterward. The NY State Department of Health outlines the full schedule and documentation requirements. PuppyGuyz puppies arrive with their initial core vaccines already on record.
Dogs four months and older must be licensed through Suffolk County Animal Control. You will need proof of a current rabies vaccination to complete the application. Licenses must be renewed annually and serve as your dog's official identification if they are ever lost in Smithtown's parks or neighborhoods.
Suffolk County requires all dogs to be on a leash whenever they are off the owner's property. This covers sidewalks, public parks, and all open spaces across Smithtown. A small number of designated off-leash areas exist in county parks, but dogs must remain under voice control at all times. Violations are enforced by town animal control and can result in fines for repeat incidents.
New York's Pet Purchaser Protection Act gives buyers real legal rights. If a vet identifies a health concern within 14 days of purchase or a congenital condition within one year, you are entitled to a refund, replacement, or reimbursement of vet costs. The NY Department of Agriculture and Markets oversees licensing and enforcement. PuppyGuyz is fully compliant with these standards.
